Monday Night Lock: 2023 Week 6
Cowboys (-1.5) @ Chargers, O/U 51
Real good Monday Night game tonight. The Cowboys come into this game after being demoralized on national TV last week to the 49ers. This team is exactly the same as they’ve been in recent years. They’ll win their share of games. They’ll make some flashy plays. But when it comes down to it, they can’t hang with the top teams. That said, with the Eagles losing yesterday and 2 games against them in the near future, they have to be licking their chops to build some momentum here.
The Chargers come into this game off of their bye week and are excited to get Austin Ekeler back. Justin Herbert has another opportunity to earn his status as a top tier QB, something that it feels like he’s never truly done. At 2–2, the Chargers really need a win to keep pace in a deep, albeit very average, AFC.
I’m going Chargers here. The Chargers are always that team that looks the part at times during the regular season, usually early or middle, and then fades out down the stretch. It doesn’t feel like they’re being talked about enough right now, but a win on Monday Night against Dallas would change that. I’ll take the points with the Chargers and the under.
