Bills (-2.5) @ Rams, O/U 51.5

IT’S HERE!!! Game 1 of the NFL season. And boy howdy (yeah I said it) do we have a dandy. If my predictions are correct, which of course they will be, the first game of the season will also be the last game in February.

After the way their season ended last year, the Bills are everyone’s team of destiny it seems like this season. They are the Super Bowl favorite, and rightfully so. Josh Allen is a popular MVP pick, and rightfully so. They found a ground game towards the end of last season. They found a complement to Stefon Diggs in Gabriel Davis. And their already loaded defense added Von Miller. This team is stacked.

The Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions. They add a presumably healthier Cam Akers along with Allen Robinson, who has to be ecstatic to be playing football with an actual QB for once in his career. He’s in line for a MONSTER season. They lost Von Miller (see above) but added Bobby Wagner, so the defense should still be a force considering they still have Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. This is the team to beat in the NFC.

I don’t know how anyone can feel good about picking either side here, and I get that the spread is under that magical number of 3, but I’m taking the points with the home team here. I expect a lot of points and a back and forth battle, so to have that 2.5 in my back pocket feels better than having to give it in coin toss type of game. Give me the Rams.

Picks: Rams +2.5 (Padlock), OVER 51.5 (Deadbolt)
