Thursday Night Lock: 2023 Week 13

What looked liked a real thriller of a Thursday Night game just a few weeks ago is now nearly a double digit spread. The Seahawks have lost 2 straight, and 3 of their last 4, causing their playoff hopes to suddenly be in question. Their offense has been the main issue. They scored 37 points in both Weeks 2 and 3. In their 8 games since, they’ve only scored more than 24 points once and more than 20 points three times.
The Cowboys, on the other hand, are as hot as they have ever been. Dak looks like a legitimate MVP candidate. They look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender. They don’t just beat teams, they slaughter them, particularly at home. This game has all the makings of another one of these Dallas beatdowns.
So, naturally, the correct pick is taking the points with the Seahawks. It would be so easy to lay the number here. But so many of the things I believe in are in play here. Seattle is a stock seemingly at its low point, whereas Dallas is a stock seemingly at its peak. Dallas has an enormous game coming up next week against Philly that may cause them to look ahead a little, whereas Seattle absolutely needs to put all of their focus and effort into this game. Taking Dallas is the comfortable pick. Be uncomfortable. I’m going Seattle and the under.
