Thursday Night Lock (NFL Week 11)
Patriots (-6.5) @ Falcons, O/U 47
Thursday Night! Full disclosure: I’m a little gun shy here after these past few weeks. The craziness that the NFL has experienced has me doubting if I know anything about football altogether. But we march forward…
The Patriots are on top of the world right now. Just a year removed from losing Tom Brady, everyone is already crowning Mac Jones as a future hall of famer. Yes, he has certainly impressed, especially in recent weeks, but pump the brakes a little. Still, this is certainly a defense and a system that has proven to be effective and that’s why the Patriots are in the playoff hunt. Some are even talking Super Bowl, but I think that’s getting carried away a bit. On the other hand, the Falcons enter this game coming off of an embarrassing loss last week, but still cling to playoff hopes due to the NFC still needing to fill 7 spots.
I’m going Falcons here. The public opinion of the Patriots is sky high right now. The opinion of the Falcons is very low. The Patriots are traveling to Atlanta on a short week with a rookie QB and facing off against a veteran, proven QB. At the end of the day, the NFL has been so crazy these last few weeks, that I just want the points, because it seems any given Sunday teams are getting upset like crazy. Give me Atlanta with the points.
