Chargers at Chiefs (-4), O/U 54

These AFC West games should be awesome all season long. These teams know how important these games are in what should be the most competitive division in football. The winner of this game will take the early lead in the division, which is always a good spot to be in.

I love the Chargers this year. I love everything about this team, especially with Khalil Mack seemingly being back to his old self in Week 1. Not having Keenan Allen certainly hurts, but great teams don’t make excuses, so I expect this team to figure it out until he returns.

I’m not so enamored with the Chiefs this year, fully knowing I may look incredibly foolish, maybe sooner rather than later considering how good they looked in Week 1. There’s something to be said for a QB now getting to, not having to, go through his progressions without a clear-cut #1 WR. Patrick Mahomes is a special QB, and he certainly is off to a great start in proving himself without the incredible talent surrounding him that’s he been fortunate enough to have so far in his young career.

I’m riding with the Chargers getting the points on the road here. I expect a tough game between two really good teams, and this is over that magical number of 3, so I feel pretty good about getting the points. I also don’t think there will be as many points scored as people expect, despite the talents on the offensive side of the ball. Give me the under as well.

Picks: Chargers +4 (Deadbolt), UNDER 54 (Padlock)
