Eagles (-14) @ Texans, O/U 45

It’s a Philly vs. Houston Thursday Night in the world of sports with the Eagles going up against the Texans in what should be a much worse game than the Astros going up against the Phillies. But this is a football blog so we stay here.

The undefeated Eagles have yet to have a single blemish on their season, which is the only reason this isn’t a complete slam dunk pick against the much worse Texans team. The Eagles have no flaws. They’ve been absolutely rolling. They can beat you through the air or on the ground offensively. They can lock you down defensively. This is truly a complete squad. But this is a short week, and it’s a primetime, road game for them. Teams don’t go entire seasons without a dud often. So will they put up a dud tonight?

I doubt it. I just don’t see the Texans scoring even in the double digits here, so despite having to lay two full TDs to take the Birds, it seems like that’s the move. Sure, the Eagles could build a huge lead, take their foot off the gas, and allow for a backdoor cover. But that’s about the only way I see them not covering. I’m almost rooting for a competitive first half so the Eagles can pull away late. Give me the Birds and the under here.

Picks: Eagles -14 (Deadbolt), UNDER 45 (Padlock)

I like sports. I’m very opinionated. I like sharing my opinions and arguing senselessly with anyone who wants to argue.
